How to choose the best 25G SFP28 module from Yingda?

When choosing a 25G optical module, it is important to balance distance, cost, and fiber resources. Please pay attention to the following details:

  1. Fiber matching: SR/ESR module must be equipped with multimode fiber (OM3/OM4); LR/ER/80km BiDi transceivers must be equipped with single-mode fiber (OS2), and mixing them can lead to link failure or poor performance.
  2. Compatibility verification: Before bulk procurement, it is necessary to conduct compatibility testing on the target switch (such as Huawei, Cisco, Arista, etc.).
  3. Industrial grade applications: When deployed in harsh environments such as outdoor base stations and non air conditioned cabinets, industrial temp (I-temp) models (operating temperature -40 ℃to+85 ℃) must be selected.
  4. Backward compatibility:SFP28 ports can usually accommodate 10 G SFP+ modules, but the speed may drop to 10G; conversely, 25G transceiver modules inserted into 10G SFP+ ports may not work or can only run 10G, which needs to be confirmed in the equipment manual.

When you want to use existing OM4 multimode fiber to transmit 200-300 meters without switching to a more expensive single-mode solution, ESR is a good supplement.

Tunable DWDM module

The preferred choice for 5G fronthaul networks is the Tunable DWDM module, which can flexibly switch between 48 DWDM wavelength channels, greatly simplifying network planning and spare parts management, and meeting industrial grade temperature requirements.

25G SFP28 Module FAQ

25Gbase er SFP28 generally requires DFB laser and APD receiver, which can utilize its high sensitivity to compensate for the high attenuation caused by long-distance transmission and ensure communication reliability.

The 25G CWDM 40km is in mass production, it will take about 1 week to be ready. If urgently need, please inform us in advance.

10g sfp+ transceiver can be inserted into SFP28 ports, which will automatically "slow down" to 10Gbps to match the SFP+ transceiver, and the link will operate normally at a rate of 10G. On the contrary, it is not possible.

Yes, transceiver stickers and sfp28 encoding inside are available, please discuss the details with sales team before production.
