The 25G BIDI SFP28 small form factory pluggable transceiver without CDR (clock data recovery) are 20km long-distance module, which is a very special and non mainstream design. Usually, 20km transmission requires extremely high signal quality, and CDR is necessary to repair the signal. Only in the specific architecture of 5G fronthaul will it be removed for ultimate performance.
