The 25G CWDM SFP28 15km optical module is an enhanced version of the 25G CWDM SFP module, primarily designed for wavelength division multiplexing scenarios requiring longer reach or higher link budget. While maintaining the interface and WDM functionality of the 10km version, it upgrades the receiver to APD and optimizes the transmitter, extending the transmission distance from 10km to 15km with a link budget of up to 19dB. This effectively addresses additional losses caused by excessive splice points and cable aging in long-distance fiber optic transmission

Applications

  • For 5G CRAN deployments within a 10-15km range, the AAU-DU connection and complex transmission paths that require higher link budgets;
  • Connecting data centers or access points in urban edge areas;
  • When two data centers are far apart and fiber resources are insufficient, requiring the use of wavelength division multiplexing technology, 15km CWDM provides a compromise solution that balances distance and channel density.
