QSFP28 100G LR4 optical fiber transceiver module is also known as LR4 Dual Rate  or LR4L. It is an enhanced medium to long distance optical module. It fills the gap between standard LR4 (10km) and ER4 (40km). With a transmission distance of approximately 18-20km, it provides higher transmission power and better reception sensitivity than LR4 (the link budget is usually around 10dB-12dB), making it the most economical choice for links within 20 kilometers.
