The QSFP 400G ER4 transceiver is an Ethernet optical module designed specifically for ultra long distance transmission of 40 kilometers (40km). It represents the highest level of 400G IMDD (Direct Detection) technology currently available, mainly used for metropolitan area networks, 5G bearer network backhaul, and high-speed interconnection between data centers.
