Ethernet architecture 400G QSFP-DD ER8 Transcevier, Ultra Long Distance Transmission of 40 km, SMF LWDM8 (1273.54nm ~ 1309.14nm), Duplex LC Optical Receptacle

The 400G QSFP-DD ER8 is a 400G optical transceiver designed specifically for ultra long distance transmission of 40 kilometers (40km). Unlike the previously discussed coherent optical module (ZR/Zr+), ER8 belongs to the Intensity Modulation Direct Detection (IMDD) module and adopts the traditional Ethernet architecture. Although the 400G ER8 can run up to 40km, it does not support wavelength division multiplexing or coherent DSP compensation. It is mainly used for simple point-to-point direct connections.
