MTP Jumper can completely eliminate “idle fiber” in parallel transmission (improve fiber utilization)
In 40G (QSFP+SR4) and 100G (QSFP28 SR4) networks, although the optical module uses a 12 core MPO interface, only 8 cores are actually used (4-core transmission, 4-core reception, and 4 cores in the middle are idle). If a regular 12 core backbone jumper is used directly, each wire will waste 4 cores. By using 2×12 core MPO to 3×8 core MPO (or similar 24 core one to two/one to three conversion) conversion cables/modules at the back end of the patch panel, all cores of the two backbones can be rearranged to perfectly supply three optical modules, achieving 100% full load utilization of optical fibers and significantly saving expensive backbone cable investments.
