The 100Gb/s 80km ZR4 QSFP28 100G Bidirectional fiber transceiver is a solution that challenges the physical limits in 100G networks. It combines “ultra long distance (80km)” with “single fiber bidirectional (BiDi)”.The BIDI module must be used in pairs with Side A and Side B, and must be integrated with SOA (semiconductor optical amplifier) at the receiving end to compensate for the huge losses caused by the 80 kilometer link. FEC must be enabled,and the price is extremely high due to its a customized product. It is widely used for direct connection of metropolitan area core network nodes within 80 kilometers.

Application

  • Long-distance fiber leasing: When the cross-city fiber leased by you has only one core and the monthly rent is extremely high, exchanging this expensive module for a 50% reduction in fiber rent is very cost-effective.
  • Metropolitan area network backbone interconnection: Used for direct connection of core network nodes within 80 kilometers.
