Application
- Cabinet-to-cabinet direct connection (Leaf-Spine): In large data centers, when two switches are within 500 meters apart, DR4 offers a more stable single-mode transmission solution compared to multimode SR4;
- Breakout (Branch Conversion): This is the core value of DR4. It supports 1:4 mode and connects a 200G port to 4 50G single-channel optical modules through one MPO-to-4-LC branch optical cable;
- Transition to 400G: In some architectures, 400G DR4 ports can be interconnected with 200G DR4 modules through branch cables.
